Dawson County is home to annual festivals and events such as the
Spring Wildflowers Celebration at Amicalola Falls State Park, the
Summer’s End Trading Days, a Fall Forest Festival and, for three
Saturdays in October, the Dawsonville town square hosts arts and
crafts, clogging, and more at the Dawson County Fall Festival. The
unique Mountain Moonshine Festival, hosted by Dawsonville and NASCAR
Bill Elliott’s local Georgia Racing Museum Hall of Fame, celebrates
the running of moonshine in Georgia that developed into NASCAR
racing.
Local activities span golfing at Dawsonville’s Chestatee course to
secluded mountain hiking or exciting white watering and exceptional
Premium Outlet shopping. Seasonal activities include fun at Burt’s
Pumpkin Farm or Uncle Shuck’s Corn Maze and the incredible summer or
winter diversions at Lake Lanier, plus Atlanta’s professional
