Lake Recreation & Homes
Lake Lanier Boating, Sports, Fun and Homes

Along with the area’s other smaller lakes, enjoy Lake Lanier recreation, premier resorts and lake homes. Lake Lanier is a 38,000 acre lake with 692 miles of shoreline including seclude arms feeding into bigger, deeper waters. The north western side of Lake Lanier resides in Dawson County, five miles from the city of Dawsonville, and the lake is accessible from four other neighboring counties, too.

Obviously, Lake Lanier’s emerald green blue waters are prized for boaters – from large yachts and houseboats to very small boats -- and jetskiers. More than 7 million people visit the lake, resort, waterpark and marinas – two are among the largest in the world. In addition to lake activities, there is also fishing (for striped bass up to 40 pounds!), golfing, horseback riding, camping, biking, beach volley ball, ziplining, tennis and hiking. LanierWorld offers a popular family fun beach and amusement park. The islands offer live entertainment, year round and seasonal dining, plus a variety of lodging and meeting center amenities. During the Christmas holiday season, Lake Lanier Islands are decorated with more than 6,000 lights as one of the world’s largest light shows. An animated drive through the display ends at a holiday village with carnival rides, bonfires, Santa Shop and live nativity.

Home prices on Lake Lanier can range from under $200,000 for a cabin on a secluded cove with a dock to $19 million for a mega mansion on the deep open sailing waters and everything in between, whether lake front, lake view or in a neighborhood.
